บึงกาฬ The Lake (2022) หมู่บ้านแห่งหนึ่งเผชิญหน้ากับสัตว์ประหลาดลึกลับจากทะเลสาบ คนในหมู่บ้านจึงต้องร่วมมือร่วมใจปกป้องบ้านเกิด กระทั่งพวกเขาค้นพบว่าความเลวร้ายไม่ได้มีเพียงแค่สัตว์สยอง The Lake บึงกาฬ ผลงานระทึกจากฝีมือผู้กำกับ ‘ลี ทองคำ’ (The Maid สาวลับใช้) คนจังหวัดบึงกาฬที่อยากทำหนังสะท้อนปัญหาสิ่งแวดล้อมในบ้านเกิด

กระทั่งพัฒนาเป็นหนังสัตว์ประหลาด “สัตว์ประหลาดเหมือนเป็นสัญลักษณ์แทนขยะ ที่จะทำให้คนรู้สึกกลัว” ลี กล่าว ‘จอร์ดู เชลล์’ นักออกแบบจากหนังดัง Avatar (2009) และ Cloverfield (2008) รับหน้าที่ออกแบบสิ่งมีชีวิตชวนสยอง ซึ่งผสมผสานทั้งปลาดุก จระเข้ และงูเข้าไว้ด้วยกัน หนังนำแสดงโดย ‘สุชาร์ มานะยิ่ง’ (The Couple รัก ลวง หลอน) , ‘วิทยา ปานศรีงาม’ (Only God Forgives) , ‘ธีรภัทร์ สัจจกุล’ (แฟนเดย์..แฟนกันแค่วันเดียว) , และ ‘สุพรรณษา เวชกามา’ aka ‘ลำไย ไหทองคำ’

นับว่าเป็นภาพยนตร์ไทย The Lake (2022)  ที่น่าจับดูมากมายของปีนี้ในฐานะของหนังอสูรกายไทยที่มิได้มองเห็นกันบ่อยครั้งนัก ภายหลังจากมองจบ ส่วนตัวก็ออกจะเชื่อถือในความทะยานอยากของหนังในหลายชนิดซึ่งสามารถยกฐานะภาพยนตร์ไทยได้มากอย่างยิ่งจริงๆในด้านของสเกลงานที่มองใหญ่มโหฬาร หากแม้ท้ายที่สุดคำตอบจะค่อนข้างจะติดๆขัดๆอยู่พอเหมาะพอควร ด้วยเหตุว่าด้วยหลายแบบยังคงออกมาไม่ดีนัก แม้กระนั้นบางสิ่งก็ให้ความรู้ความเข้าใจสึกว่าหนังมาเหมาะสมถูกทาง

The Lake (2022) บึงกาฬ ตัวหนังในครึ่งแรกนับว่าเป็นส่วนเหมาะสมที่สุดของเรื่องเลย ด้วยการเปิดเรื่องแบบโชว์ให้มองเห็นมอนสเตอร์ขนาดใหญ่เต็มๆตากันไปก่อนเลย ก่อนที่จะถัดมาจะเลือกเล่าด้วยมุมภาพจำกัดแบบแทนสายตามอนสเตอร์ที่วิ่งตามล่าเหยื่อตัดสลับกับมุมมองจากผู้ที่วิ่งหนีหรือมองเห็นมันเพียงแต่เล็กน้อยในฉากที่มันออกก่อกวนถี่มากแบบติดๆกัน ผู้คนก็หนีกับเจ็บรวมทั้งตายกระจัดกระจาย ซึ่งดูแล้วลุ้นระทึกมากมาย

ราวกับเป็นช่วงๆเซอร์วิสปล่อยของเรียกผู้ชมให้ตรึงกับเรื่องได้เลย ว่าหนังประเด็นนี้เป็นหนังมอนสเตอร์แท้ๆที่อัดแน่นไปด้วยฉากกลุ่มนี้จริงๆโดยไม่กลัวว่าของจะหมดก็อก CG ก็มองเนียนผ่านลื่นไหล บางครั้งก็อาจจะเนื่องจากการเคลื่อนไหวที่เร็วๆที่ผู้กำกับเลือกใช้ด้วย แต่ว่ามันก็ได้ผลสรุปที่ดี กระทั่งทำให้ครึ่งแรกตัวหนังทั้งยังตื่นเต้นแล้วก็ได้อารมณ์ร่วมแบบสัตว์บุกเมืองต่างจังหวัดไทยได้ค่อนข้างจะเรียลดีจังๆแม้ว่าจะมีบทบางจุดที่ดูแล้วสงสัยเล็กๆก็สามารถปลดปล่อยผ่านได้ (อย่างฉากตัวดาราออมกล่าวแบบอารมณ์มิได้ในเทรลเลอร์ที่มองเห็นก่อนนี้)

Personally, I like the gloomy atmosphere mixed with excitement that makes it look good. It’s the part that makes us still enjoy the movie. As for the visual CG and the production, it came out smoothly without any problems. Made it look like a lot. The giant puppets and monsters were able to engulf the skin.
